Javier Hernandez has insisted that he is thinking solely of forcing his way into the Mexico squad for the World Cup rather than his summer move to Manchester United.
The little-known striker made headlines earlier this month after a deal was agreed for him to move to Old Trafford at the end of the season.
A work permit still needs to be sorted but there are not expected to be any major problems and Hernandez has already expressed his excitement at the switch.
However, he is putting such matters to the back of his mind until after the World Cup, when he hopes to be part of the Mexico squad.
The 21-year-old has only just started his international career, scoring four times in four appearances, and knows he will have to play well just to make Javier Aguirre's final 23-man party.
"You have to take advantage of opportunities in life," he said. "I'm really happy, but my mind is on this national team, in winning a spot and working hard.
"Nothing is sure for anybody in regard to making the (national) team. It's not sure for me or any player.
"We are all football players and nobody gets a guaranteed spot, no matter what club you come from."
