Aston Villa are weighing up a move for Manchester United goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak. The Pole wants more game time and Villa want competition for 39- year-old Brad Friedel and his compatriot Brad Guzan.
The 27-year-old has made less than 30 Premier League appearances for United since joining United in the summer of 2006. And he also faces competition from Ben Foster, who manager Sir Alex Ferguson has tipped to be the future England No 1.
He did play for United in this season's Carling Cup final victory over Villa. Kuszczak, who is contracted until 2012, admitted: I don't t know how much longer I can stay on the bench. 'I have waited for four years and I enjoy my time here, but maybe I need to change it.'
fridel is good enough. i think chelsea need him more. or arsenal. haha
I think Fergie should sell him and get a new keeper to challenge Van Der Sar.
Igor Akinfeev, Hugo Illoris, Steve Madanda, Rene Adler, Manuel Neuer.
Foster can keep his place on the bench.

DE GEA: Hot property with Atletico Madrid
The talented keeper has emerged as a target for Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson and Spanish sources claim the Scot is unhappy that Atleti will not even entertain talks over a potential transfer
The capital club want to keep De Gea at the Vicente Calderon and have no intention of allowing him to leave this summer.
It has been suggested Ferguson was willing to strike a deal where he would be loaned back to his current club for another season, with Edwin van der Sar extending his stay at Old Trafford again.
However, Atletico officials have refused to enter into dialogue with United over the 19-year-old Spaniard.
"My favourite goalkeeper is Gianluigi Buffon," he said recently. "But I also admire Iker Casillas and Edwin van Der Sar."
Ferguson still has Ben Foster and Tomasz Kuszczak as back-up to his No1 but still remains to be convinced that either can be the Dutch veteran's long-term heir.

Manchester United are still in the hunt for Schalke goalkeeper Manuel Neuer as Sir Alex Ferguson looks for Edwin van der Sar's long-term replacement.
Nemanja Vidic has escaped a four-match ban despite leaving Johan Elmander needing stitches for a head wound
Manchester United are in the hunt for Schalke’s super keeper Manuel Neuer – as Sir Alex Ferguson looks for Edwin van der Sar’s long-term replacement.
Ferguson sent goalkeeping coach Eric Steele to cast his expert eye on the 6ft 4in giant who celebrated his 24th birthday at the weekend.
Steele saw Neuer in action against Bayern Munich in a German Cup tie last week and Fergie’s keen if the price is right – with Schalke looking for around £10m.
Neuer will go to the World Cup finals in Germany’s squad and is tipped to become their number one sooner rather than later.
The Reds know they don’t have van der Sar’s full-time replacement within their own ranks after Ben Foster flopped – and Neuer is now moving into pole position.

well, I am quite sure Vidic went for the ball, but left a "bit" for Elmander. Not entirely innocent.
