Mame Biram Diouf has been granted a work permit for United
Manchester United striker Mame Biram Diouf has been granted a work permit and will be available for selection in January.
Diouf, 22, joined from Molde in the summer but has remained at the Norwegian club on loan while the permit issues were resolved.
Diouf, who has one senior cap with Senegal, has been impressive in training and could now be given the chance to impress in the United first-team in the second half of the campaign.
Sir Alex Ferguson said: "He's been training with us and is looking very exciting. That's the kind of situation we're good at - finding young players who can develop at the club and, at 22 years of age, he's looking very good."
can play defender?
I hope he doesnt turn out to be that last african player we bought or djemba djemba.
Watched his videos at youtube and he looked good, Pacey, Strong and Skillful, he could prove to be the missing link up front for United. I'm keeping my fingers cross but wont he depart for the African Nations Cup then after getting work permit? LOL.
I think his country did not qualify so he is not taking part... So he is free to play in Jan...

Mame Biram Diouf is poised to make his Manchester United debut next month after being granted a work permit.
Sir Alex Ferguson signed the 22-year-old striker from Molde in the summer before allowing him to return to the Norwegian club on loan.
With 16 goals in 29 matches for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's former club this season, Diouf certainly offers Ferguson an option in attack where goals have been hard to come by recently.
Diouf is unavailable for the FA Cup third-round tie with Leeds United at Old Trafford on 3 January, but Ferguson feels he has a promising future ahead of him.
"If you're talking about value then you can look at our young boy Diouf," he said recently. "He's been training with us and is looking very exciting. That's the kind of situation we're good at, finding young players who can develop at the club, and at 22 years of age he's looking very good."
