Premier League Game 18
Away matches are always going to be tough... Lets hope they can still get 3 points from this rather good Fulham side considering the defence is still not at its best...
its a tough match away at fulham, but united should prevail. hopefully there will not be another sent off by a united player. last season loss to fulham at their den was due to scholes sent off and united went on to lose 2-0.
This is one very tough one... I read that Fulham have not lost a match for like almost 3 months and their home record is like... 4 wins and a draw. And their current striker is in great form scoring 4 in their last 3 matches...
United will once again be without their defenders with only Evra the only one available... looks like Carrick, Fletcher and Gibson will once again play in defence... I don't even know how they can keep this going honestly... The Dec and Jan period will see them play the most matches and yet they got no defenders... I am afraid they will drop more points tonight against this Fulham team...
the best form of defence is attack. united need to attack and attack fulham from the outset.
Injury problems continue to dog United and this Saturday’s trip to Fulham could be trickier than Betfair layers predict – the champions trade at 1.64 (5/8) for the win.
The Cottagers have produced some tidy and effective football this year, suffering just two defeats at home with Liverpool among their victims. Only Chelsea and Arsenal can claim league wins at the Thames-side fortress and it’s now four Premier League games unbeaten for Roy Hodgson’s men.
So, it’s unlikely to be a walk in the park for Sir Alex's men, especially with Michael Carrick and Darren Fletcher likely to fill in at the back again. Wolves may have been shut out on Tuesday but Fulham will test the back four a little more than Wanderers’ second-string.
Given United’s defensive issues it’s a surprise to see Over 2.5 goals trade above odds-on (11/10) and that is the main selection. Fulham may not be free-scoring but they’re usually good for one or two goals and we all know United aren’t too bad at finding the back of the net.
Only Chelsea have beaten Fulham by more than one goal this year and there’s little to suggest this won’t be a tight affair. Yet most of the
markets point to Reds’ dominance. A small lay of United on the Asian handicap market -1 &1.5 at odds of 1.92 (10/11) will mean you'll win your bet should the Reds win by a solitary goal or fail to win at all. Granted, it’s not the most loyal bet for a United fan to make, but a winner is a winner…
As for individuals on the pitch, Anotonio Valencia has hit stride in recent weeks with goals against West Ham and Wolves. He could figure again and a price of approximately 4 (3/1) may reward a tentative First Scorer bet.
Elsewhere in the Premier League, Liverpool look short at 1.62 (5/8) to win at Portsmouth. Avram Grant’s charges have shown improved form in recent weeks, giving Chelsea a scare in midweek to prove the players are still on side despite the club’s financial troubles. The new manager still has time to work things out while Liverpool were hardly convincing against Wigan. A lay of Benitez’s boys could be the shrewdest bet of the weekend.
Fulham can be giant-killers on a good day.
It doesn't help that this is an away match.
I am going to say it again like I said it last week... With the kind of defense put out today... The only way United can win this match is for them to score more goals than Fulham... Cos Fulham will score with the defense of today...
old man scholes playing in midfield today. hope he doesnt do anything silly today lol, like last season handball and subsequent sent off.
Whenever he plays in away matches, I worry as his pace is long gone and his tackles usually yielded a yellow.
that two idiots from football channel, one say draw, one say fulham to win
wtf paul kana yellow again!
see scholes challenged produced a straight yellow, although he got the ball. scholes is walking on a tightrope now, I am wondering if fergie will sub him out to save him from being red carded.
woah, the way paul tackle very dangerous sial.
im worried for him even though im not an utd fan, lol
scholes doesnt know how to tackle, just like cantona. the moment they challenge, usually produce a yellow card.
i think pig can replace vds if retire, he's good, or at least better than ben
why call him pig? is that short form for his name or nickname?
anyway I am glad he played, as he made a good save earlier. I have no confidence in foster whatsoever. I shudder to think if foster was in goal for today's match, united will be 1-0 down.
1-0
knn cb scholes what the fark was he doing? gifted the ball to murphy so easily. I have a bad feeling when I saw his name for today match.
i also forget why le
poland international goalkeeper is it? i rmb something like that.
ask omgukilledkenny, he will rmb i suppose
Murphy is like the jinx of united!
last season he was the culprit for the loss. I hope today he is not the culprit again if united were to lose to fulham today. I hope I am wrong, but whenever he plays, I am worried.
this is a soft goal to concede man, really sick to my stomach. just like foster gifting a goal against man city at old trafford earlier.
commentator said united had a lot of the ball, but once in the final third, they simply ran out of ideas. need obertan to come on and run their RB up and down the pitch.
on man scholes, what the fark he pass to a fulham player. commentator said he rarely pass the ball away, but I beg to differ. he usually miss pass the ball in every match, so I am wondering the word rarely is used. it should often if not regularly.
dun forget scholes is on a yellow now, another mistime challenge he will be sent off. any hopes of a united come back will be extinguished if he does get sent off.
utd not like liverpool, utd will always have new ideas to win games.
