Tosic determined to make it at OT
Zoran Tosic claims he can still succeed at United after the club pulled the plug on his pal Adem Ljajic's move. Tosic has yet to start since being signed in January with Ljajic from Partizan Belgrade. Ferguson has turned down the option to buy Ljajic, prompting fears that Tosic could be offloaded next month. But the Serbian international insists he will stay and fight for his place. "Sir Alex has a big squad to choose from and there is a lot of quality in the first team, so I know it's not easy for me. I have to look at the Carling Cup and the FA Cup as perhaps my chance to show what I can do and prove myself to the manager."

Ljajic himself is also in the papers. The Daily Telegraph quotes him as saying: “I was on the payroll of Manchester United and I received a payment this year. It was a pre-contract [payment], but I will not go into it.”
Spanish football expert Guillem Ballague believes that Karim Benzema could be on his way to Old Trafford as early as January, despite only signing for Real Madrid in the summer. Ballague writes in the Mirror, “Benzema has had a disappointing start to his Real Madrid career - and (club president) Florentino Perez is already considering attempting to recuperate the £35million splashed out on him in the summer rather than waiting to see if he settles and risk seeing his value diminish.”
The Sun says Darren Fletcher is desperate for Nemanja Vidic to be fit for Saturday’s clash with Aston Villa so he doesn’t have to mark giant striker John Carew. The Scot is quoted thus: “Do I fancy playing against Carew? I don't know about that. Hopefully Vidic will return and I'll move to right-back.”
