Ton up: Manchester United's Ryan Giggs scores his 100th Premier League goal at Portsmouth on Saturday
Pure delight: Giggs celebrates with Wayne Rooney after scoring at Fratton Park
Evergreen Ryan Giggs is set to be handed a new contract at Manchester United.
The Welsh wizard may have turned 36 on the weekend when he claimed a 100th Premier League goal, but there are no plans to pension him off just yet.
Giggs is out of contract at the end of the season, but is set to be offered a 12-month extention.
Old Trafford boss Sir Alex Ferguson said: 'Ryan is exceptional, a rarity, he will play for two years yet.'
Wayne Rooney scored a hat trick in United's 4-1 win at Portsmouth on Saturday, but it was Giggs who claimed the headlines by scoring the clincher and setting up two for his team-mate.
The veteran admits he is starting to feel his age, but manages to stay in good condition by putting his feet up.
'I used to leave training and be able to go out shopping or meet up with friends in town,' he said, 'but not now, now it takes me one or two days to recover from matches so I know I have to conserve energy.
'These days I go home, put my feet up and sit on the settee watching TV or DVDs. My life is boring, boring, boring but it's what I have to do to stay fit.'
