  who will be playing this sunday will depend who is playing at mid week.

  It is a good time for Alex to tickle Ah Ben before sunday if Liverpool got a lousy result at midweek.

  As for Liverpool, they are playing out of position and below par now.

  With Ah Ben around and the present squad, it would be miracle for them to beat chelsea, man utd and arsenal.

  But, hard to say about soccer, they may become hungry this sunday and win.

  No.. listen to me..

  If torres and gerrard never play, they would not have a chance to win at all...

  The only possible news for liverpool is that they got this tie right at anfield, however given that its united, anfield does not necessary means anything special. So how the game goes still very much dependent on the availability of gerrard and torres.

  If liverpool loses this midweek to lyon, then they are really shit. Losing to Fiorentina, then to Sunderland, then to Lyon and then to Man utd, would be rather shitting for a team that is supposedly challenging for the title this season.

  United are too strong for liverpool at the moment espcially without gerrard and liverpool. The midfield gap (thanks to lucas) is the weakest link. Carragher is another weak link. Liverpool has loopholes every where, and its just being exploited week in week out.

  Pool fans don't need to be so pessimistic. This is the biggest rivalry between football clubs... Form doesn't really matters in such derby, Pool has the big advantage of the home ground and majority of the fans behind them... United have to be on their best form to get anything from Anfield... Cos if I am not wrong, Pool players don't need Rafa to motivate them for this one, they will all be up for this and knowing Rafa, a win over United will pacify the growing discontent among the Pool fans with him... In other words, a win over United will buy him more time...

  United themselves isn't in great form... I feel they have been quite lucky with their opponents helping to score for them in quite a few matches already. So unless one of Pool's player decided to help them again I feel it would be very difficult to get all 3 points at Anfield... 1 point would be ok with me...

  Michael Owen is under no illusions that he will receive a hostile reception when he returns to Anfield next weekend.

  Former Liverpool hero Owen returns to his former home next Sunday for the first time with Manchester United since his surprise switch to Old Trafford.

  Owen has been warned by former Reds team-mate Jamie Carragher that he could be the subject of stick from Liverpool fans for joining their arch-rivals.

  The 29-year-old is fully expecting to receive jeers from the Anfield faithful - and he insists the reception will not bother him

  Owen told the Mail on Sunday Magazine: "I'm human. I'd prefer people to sit down and recognise what you did for them and for the team in years gone past but I'm pretty realistic as well and now that I'm playing for their arch rivals... I'm not holding my breath, put it that way."

  Former Newcastle and Real Madrid Owen also revealed he has no problem not being a regular starter at United.

  Owen has found his path to the starting XI blocked by Wayne Rooney and Dimitar Berbatov, but insists he will not complain about his lack of action.

  "I think if I was 19 or 20, playing really well and scoring loads of goals and being constantly on the bench, then I'd definitely have a different outlook than now, when I've played a long time," added Owen.

  "I've not been left out of the squad since I've been there and it's great. I feel part of the team, part of the squad.

  "The manager's said to me that I'll play my fair share of games. In any case. if you'd said to me in the summer, 'You're going to go to Manchester United and be the fourth-choice striker and start 10 games and come off the bench 10 times, and that's your lot', then I would have snapped your hand off."

  The good news is that Man U is not exactly coming in with the best of forms. THey have been scrapping wins and draws in the past few games. But the bad news is Liverpool is a worse form than them

  Last season, actually earlier part of this year only lah, when I was in Orchard road on the day of the match in the afternoon, I came across two buses, one full with United supporters and the other with Pool fans... They were going around cheering and shouting from the open top DD bus... It was kind of fun though... lol.

  Don't know will they have the same this weekend...

  I was in one of those buses, it was some marketing thingy on starhub's part. Participants on those buses got paid 30 bucks for riding down Orchard road on those buses cheering for the team they like. Lol

  well, that's good fun... given both sides are not in the best form, it will be quite a match. but Pool is a wounded tiger, surely, will come out fighting. if MU can withstand the storm, and control the game to their rhythmn, then got chance. else, another 4-1 leh..

  Liverpool have sold out of the £10 "Beach Set" that diverted the team's title prospects at Sunderland and will search Manchester United supporters for any offending items, including beach balls, before Sunday's Premier League clash at Anfield.

  The club's online store has experienced a rush on the "Beach Set" package following Darren Bent's winning goal at the Stadium of Light on Saturday, when his shot struck a Liverpool-crested beach ball and ricocheted beyond goalkeeper José Reina.

  United supporters are suspected of being behind the increased demand for Liverpool beach products, with a "tribute" to Bent's goal planned but risk having them confiscated at the turnstiles on Sunday. "It will be the normal search policy," said a Liverpool spokesperson.

  I am a fan of Liverpool.

  But, I will not cheer Owen.

  Owen is a glory seeker and only want to play in the world cup.

  The club that he played does not mean anything to him.

  No reason to cheer him.

  As for wounded tiger theory, you have to see tonight CL match to see how wounded they will be further.

  I can't believe someone bought a Man Utd jersey and printed O'Shea at the back . Well if Owen was a real Liverpool fan (he's not), he wouldn't have joined Man Utd in the first place. He's just a glory hog trying to beat Bobby Charlton's england goal record.

  Manchester United fans will be searched for beach balls before their clash with Liverpool on Sunday in a bid to stop a Darren Bent goal 'tribute'.

  Liverpool beach balls have sold out on the club's official website, with Red Devils fans thought to be snapping up copies of the now infamous red ball ahead of their trip to Anfield.

  And although Liverpool are not planning any specific measures ahead of kick-off, fans will be searched before the game and any offending items - including beach balls - will be confiscated.

  "It will be the normal search policy," said a Liverpool spokesperson.

  Reds supporters watched in disbelief as they lost 1-0 to Sunderland on Saturday when a shot by Bent hit a beach ball and swerved past Pepe Reina.
