Keeper Foster up for the chop
STRUGGLING ...Ben Foster
Tomasz Kuszczak will play in goal tonight as United put out a reserve side against Wolves in the Carling Cup. But if he has a good game he will stay in for the Premier League match at Stoke after a series of blunders by Foster.
First-choice Edwin Van der Sar, 38, is recovering from a broken thumb and will not be back for three more weeks.
Foster, 26, had hoped to replace the Dutch veteran permanently but United are worried about him flapping at high balls of which there will be plenty from Stoke.
Manchester United is a strong team! Go go go... I bet on that team.
foster cannot be the goalie against stoke. stoke players are known for their robust challenge, not to mention their set pieces and tall players in the penalty box. with a weakness like foster in clearing the ball or basically a one footer goalie, he will be in for a tough match. let the pole kuszak be in goal rather than foster.
stoke got delap's long throw
that really worry me with foster in goal. stoke strategy in this match is simple, target foster weak handling of crosses, charge and challenger foster for balls and throw in at the penalty box.
Ben Foster will start for United against Stoke City, Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed, while the Reds will be without Edwin van der Sar for three more weeks.
Tomasz Kuszczak impressed between the sticks in the Carling Cup against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday, but Foster keeps his place for league duty against his former club. Van der Sar, who suffered a broken hand in pre-season, isn't expected back until mid-October.
"Edwin is still three weeks away," Sir Alex confirmed at his Friday press conference. "It was a good opportunity for Tomasz to play on Wednesday, but Ben will start against Stoke. He’s not had a lot of game experience but he’ll be okay."
The boss also confirmed that there were no fresh injury concerns after Wednesday night's 1-0 victory, and added that the players who played in the 4-3 derby victory over Manchester City are all in contention for selection this weekend. Sir Alex revealed his respect for the work Tony Pulis is doing at Stoke and says that the trip to the Britannia Stadium will not be easy.
"Stoke have a good home record, and I'm not surprised how they've started the season at all," he said. "They have fantastic support. They say the Britannia is the noisiest ground in the country and I wouldn’t disagree with that.
"Last season was about survival because it’s not easy for anyone coming out of the Championship into the Premier League. But last time I was there you could sense a marked change. They’re an ambitious club with a good managerial structure and a good chairman. They're a club on the up and they're going to be a force this season."
hope he dun stuff up at stoke.
i daresay even the coolest of goalkeepers will find it challenging to be clearing long throw-ins for 90 minutes.

yes. if he cock up again today and costs utd points as either a draw or loss, fergie will dump him for thommo. this is his last chance before VDS is back.
2-0 win. the evergreen sub giggs done it again. had a hand in both goals. scholes as usual, cannot tackle. heng he never get sent off with a second yellow card. with chelsea loss, man utd is on same points with chelsea. woo woo
No prize for guessing who's shirt I'm gonna wear tomorrow!
well foster didn't have to do anything today fortunately lol.
professional 2-0 win. chelsea drop points with a lose to wigan.
we are going top of the table
his kicking is still crappy under pressure.
When Johnny goes marching down the wing,
O'Shea! O'Shea!
When Johnny goes marching down the wing,
O'Shea! O'Shea!
When Johnny goes marching down the wing the Stretford end will f**king sing,
WE ALL KNOW THAT JOHNNY'S GONNA SCORE!
at least he didnt take his own sweet time to clear the balls today, gotta be glad for that.
giggsy the supplier again, mistake i put fletcher in my fantasy team instead of him =/
very surprised chelsea lost today, nvr thought wigan would be a stumbling block. just as i nvr thought burnley would be.

O Shea lol
his crosses needed to be more accurate
so O shea is the first choice RB this season over wes brown and gary neville and fabio

FINIALLY! This is the first time he scored after I bought the jersey.
Happy I am, for the team and for this player.
He needs to stop giving away balls too hahaha! After all he can play at many areas but he sucks. Too bad he's my favorite player. Balls to the United players who keep passing to Evra.
Of all people, O'Shea scores.... haha.....
Honestly, while it was a win, the Chelsea-Wigan match was much more entertaining.
Oh well... a win's a win. Can't really complain about that.
next month match against liverpool is vital. looking forward to it at anfield.
today foster didnt dared to cock up lol heng.

Hopefully by then VDS would be back...
we're too reliant on giggs to supply the killer-passes.
we need a new playmaker. Scholes is good but he's getting on with age, same as giggs. Carrick off-form. Fletcher and Anderson are defensive mf. Though the fact is Anderson is actually an attacking mf.
