  WHAT A BUMMER.. I think its a proven fact that when I watch Man Utd play they don't score much and more often get sucky results. But if I don't watch, they always perform well and score a lot. Was it a good match? -sigh-

  You're right, they had plenty of opportunities in the first half, a more accurate scoreline would be 6-0 or 7-0

  I believed a lot of good things will come out of this match... Berbatov and Owen got their first goal of the season, for Owen, it was his first for the club... It will lift off the pressure on him and give him more confidence from now on... Same with Nani, he will feel more as a team player now then before... I see him passing the ball more often to his team mates than he ever did since he came...

  Lastly, I have to say this is the first time I see Ben Foster has the potential to be the next England No.1

  I think once he start playing more often, his confidence will grow as well...

  this is the typical morale booster that the team needs.The match that kind of let players to start off their engine...ppl like owen berbatov and nani.Shouldn't look too much into this as wigan are rebuilding under new manager.We'll see how this united team face against arsenal

  one match and an emphatic scoreline doesnt mean anything. next week is crunch match against Arsenal. a defeat will come to nothing if that happens.

  Manchester United bounced back in emphatic style following their shock midweek defeat by Burnley with a 5-0 hammering of Wigan.

  Two goals from England striker Wayne Rooney and strikes from Bulgarian Dimitar Berbatov, Michael Owen, his first for the club, and Nani saw the Red Devils home in ultimately comfortable fashion.

  United had struggled to break down the home side in the opening half but Rooney put United ahead in the 56th minute with his 100th goal for the club.

  Berbatov added a second in the 58th minute before Rooney scored his second in the 65th minute. Owen hit his first for the club and Nani then scored a fifth in the final minute to complete the rout and move United third in the table.

  They face Arsenal next Saturday - and two goals from Abou Diaby plus second-half strikes from William Gallas and Aaron Ramsey put the Gunners top of the table with a 4-1 win over Portsmouth.

  Pompey are now bottom of the table and had no answer to free-scoring Arsenal.

  Diaby put the Gunners ahead in the 17th minute after good work by Eduardo and added a second four minutes later.

  Younes Kaboul pegged Arsenal back before the interval but Gallas and Ramsey made the points safe for Arsene Wenger's side with goals in the 51st and 68th minutes respectively.

  i nvr watch both matches but looks like they all got fked nicely by SAF?

   I think chris kirkland will warm the bench during the next match.

  I think u answered the questioned on ur own lol....is cuz they kena fk nicely by SAF...think manage not to concede is cuz of Vidic.

  well, Vidic is key, but don't forget GaryNeville. He brought a sense of old-english-tackling back into the team. Also, Scholes was good in pulling the strings in midfield.

  I wish I can see more of Valencia cutting in and unleashing, rather than just hugging the byline, and just crossing. Agree with some on Ben Foster he is "maturing" into his role.I think Evra can take the left back and left winger role. Nani is still hesistant on attacking, seems to lack confidence or seemingly over-confidence.

  Good to see Berba and Owen opening their account. Berba, 20 more, Owen, if possible, 15 more.. haha.. Rooney, 30 more please..

  I think all in all, a good morale booster for the next home game vs Gunners.
