Sir Alex Ferguson feels United's participation in the Audi Cup is the perfect follow-up to a successful four-game tour of Asia.
The Reds arrived in Germany on Monday morning following a 10-day trip to the Far East which yielded four wins from four.
While United were well tested in Asia, Sir Alex feels their two games in Munich against Boca Juniors, on Wednesday, and AC Milan or Bayern Munich 24 hours later will bring tougher challenges which will further aid his side's preparations for the coming season.
"We feel we’re coming into a real football situation now," said the boss at his pre-match press conference.
"We’ve just spent 10 days in Asia and although we did appreciate the competition there – it helped to bring us on and develop our tempo and rhythm – [this is the real deal].
"Most importantly, we’ve come here with no injuries - we’re at the stage where everyone’s fit. We’re delighted to be here and are looking forward to both games."
