Sir Alex has promised to make changes ahead of the Reds’ second meeting with the Malaysia XI side that came so close to upsetting United on Saturday afternoon.
It took a late Michael Owen goal to seal victory at the Bukit Jilal stadium in Kuala Lumpur and the 29-year-old could find himself in the starting XI on Monday night when the teams meet again.
The boss has also indicated he’ll give starts to Gary Neville and Fabio, while Ryan Giggs, Wes Brown, Zoran Tosic, Michael Carrick and Darren Fletcher are also tipped to play large roles.
"The players who started the first game won’t start on Monday," the Reds' manager said. "It will be a completely different team. Other players need to get minutes on the clock."
Sir Alex was effusive in his praise for United’s opponents after the 3-2 win and will no doubt expect a similar challenge on Monday.
“I thought Malaysia were very good in a lot of things they did. They had the speed to catch us on the counter-attack a few times. You always worry about quick teams because they can really threaten you.”
K Rajagobal’s side is certainly much better equipped than when United steamrolled the Malaysians 6-0 in 2001.
“The scoreline tells you they’re far superior,” Sir Alex agreed. “They have great enthusiasm, speed and a good hunger for playing. As soon as we got the ball they were closing us down quickly and that’s great credit to them.
“And I thought they were brave at the back to play one against one. They weren’t fazed by going tight against our centre forwards.”

I think Man U will go all out to crush their opponents in the next game.
Man U won't stand for winning by 1 goal against SEA opponents.
Ben Foster’s pre-season got off to the worst possible start on Saturday, but Sir Alex Ferguson has reiterated his belief that the young goalkeeper will one day be England’s no.1.
On as a half-time substitute for Edwin van der Sar, Foster, usually so good with the ball at his feet, gifted Amri Yahyah an equaliser when he failed to control Darron Gibson’s backpass.
Players’ performances in pre-season can carry real weight when the manager comes to picking his teams for early competitive fixtures, but Sir Alex appeared unflustered by the 26-year-old’s error.
“That was Ben’s first game for three or four months – he dislocated a finger ligament at the end of last season and we had to operate,” the boss said.
“I’ve said it before but, in the long-run, I think he’ll be England’s goalkeeper. I’m absolutely certain of that.”
For that to happen, however, Foster needs to be playing regularly for the Reds. And according to Sir Alex, there are two obstacles currently blocking that path.
“Ben has a challenge to take the position of Edwin van der Sar, who, as everybody accepts, is one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time.
“We also hope and pray Ben gets a long run without an injury – consistency will be important for the boy.”
Tomasz Kuszczak, who didn’t feature at all in Saturday’s first Asia Tour game, is expected to start in goal against Malaysia XI on Monday.
The club have confirmed they will play a second game against a Malaysian XI on Monday evening (20 July) in Kuala Lumpur following the cancellation of their visit to Indonesia.
The Reds had been due to fly to Jakarta on Saturday evening after the opening tour game, but Friday's terrorist attacks in Indonesia prompted a change of plan.
Julian Kam, CEO of ProEvents, the tour organisers, revealed further details on United's second match in Malaysia at Saturday's post-match press conference.
"The game will take place on Monday 20 July at 20:45 local time [13:45 BST] again at the Bukit Jalil Stadium. Looking at the tremendous reception the team have received in Malaysia, and the capacity crowd on Saturday evening, we believe many fans will be eager to watch the team play again. A second match will give fans who missed out first time around another chance to watch the players in action, and those who would like to watch them again can also do so.
"Fans from the UK who have bought tickets to watch the match in Indonesia can exchange them for new tickets for Monday's game in Malaysia. Similarly, fans in Indonesia who bought tickets for the match in Jakarta can also exchange them to watch the game in Kuala Lumpur. We have arranged for 3,000 seats in the stadium to be allocated for these purposes.
"Fans can exchange their tickets at a special counter at the green gate at the Bukit Jalil Stadium which will be open on matchday from 12:00 to 19:00."
