Premier League new boys Burnley have completed the signing of young defender Richard Eckersley from Manchester United.
The full-back has inked a four-year deal at Turf Moor after turning down a new deal at United.
As he is under 24, Burnley will have to agree a compensation package with United for the 20-year-old.
Eckersley came through the ranks at Old Trafford and he was tipped for a big future at the club.
However, Clarets boss Owen Coyle has managed to persuade him to turn his back on United and move to the Premier League new boys.
Eckersley is Burnley's fifth new signing of the summer following the arrivals of Tyrone Mears, Steven Fletcher, David Edgar and Brian Easton.

Highly-rated youngster Corry Evans is set to follow older brother Jonny into the senior ranks of Manchester United and Northern Ireland.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is expected to field a young team for the trip to Hull City on Sunday, with a Champions League final clash with Barcelona in Rome just a few days later, and Evans is being lined up for a debut.
Corry is a current Northern Ireland under 21 international and was among ten uncapped players named today by Worthington for the Italian friendly on June 6.
Evans was scouted while playing for Greenisland FC, the same club that his brother, Corry, and Craig Cathcart played for before moving to Manchester United.

Thanks for the info.
Anyway, before we sidetrack, R.Eckersley. certainly has a future with Utd but good luck to him at Burnley. We certainly wish him success. For that alone, i will watch Burnley's matches and rooting for them to survive though i will still hope they lose againts Utd. haha
