Fergie plots Toure move: United seek to fill Hargreaves void
Swap sides: Barcelona's Yaya Toure in action against United
Manchester United have asked about Barcelona midfielder Yaya Toure amid growing concern over the fitness of Owen Hargreaves.
England midfielder Hargreaves has been restricted to just 25 appearances since joining United from Bayern Munich for £17m two years ago, and there are worries over his future after two major knee operations last season.
United manager Sir Alex Ferguson insists Hargreaves will be back before the end of the year but has asked about Toure, who could be allowed to leave Barcelona if Liverpool's Javier Mascherano is signed to perform the holding role.

Fletcher is wasted at RM unless the opponent has a thereat going down the left flank that needs to be nullified. He is definitely suited for a CM role, less effective but dependable for the DM role.
If the CL final has showed Utd, Carrick and Scholes is the type of central midfielders that can breaks up opponents attacks thru the middle. that's why Fletcher is an important asset to have and Ferguson normally plays him in big matched where the midfield battles in the middle of the park is key.
