Park Ji-Sung is to begin negotiations for a contract extension with Manchester United.
The
28-year-old South Korean international's current deal expires in 2011,
but he is keen for new terms. He is currently paid in the region of
£55,000-60,000 per week.
Park has been at the club since 2005,
racking up 85 appearances in that time. He is the first Asian to win
the Champions League, although he played no part in the final, despite
being one of the club's key players during the earlier stages.
A
year later, he become the first Asian to participate in a Champions
League final, but the match ended in defeat for United, as they went
down 2-0 to Barcelona.

Park Ji-sung is in discussions with Manchester United officials over a new contract, according to the player's management agency.
The midfielder's current deal expires at the end of the season and uncertainty surrounding his future began to grow after United postponed contract talks earlier this year.
Park's management agency JS Limited revealed to the Korean press that the protracted affair could be coming to an end, but admitted they are still in the early stages of negotiations.
"If the conditions are satisfactory, then the deal can be completed earlier. For now though, there is not much to say," the agency told Yonhap News in a statement.
"It is difficult to explain the specific details of the offer. But when an agreement is reached with United, an announcement will be made."
Earlier last month, United's chief executive David Gill stated that he expected Park to agree terms on a contract extension before the end of August.
