TAKE a first look at Manchester United's new home kit for the 2009-10 season!
The new kit will be launched on July 1 and its appearance has been a tightly guarded secret.
But here you can see our sneak preview of the famous red shirt updated for 2009-10 and modelled by Wayne Rooney.

The new kit has been designed by Nike to recognise the club's glorious history at Old Trafford in the ground's centenary year.
It features several design cues that pay homage to the side that first played at the Theatre of Dreams.

Looks similar to the current jersey with a V shape. Except maybe the sponsor location on the shirt will change.

Yeah! The pictures of Manchester United's new shirt for the 2009/10 season has been leaked on the internet over the weekend.....It is a tribute kit to commemorate United's first FA Cup winning side in 1909.
I was hoping the next kit has a collar on it but its unlikely ...

if i m not wrong this new kit spots a big black V shape across the chest...very awkward n ugly in my opinion

That is your opinion. Have you read what the article? This is a tribute kit. which prolly means that the V shape will not be on any other teams kit designed by nike.
Edit: i saw the so called leaked photo, and nike had the same one designed for mexico. hahaha

It looks good, at least it isn't the earlier 'leak' version of a white V all the way from the the shoulder top down to the stomach and up to the other side shoulder again... This one looks good with the Nike logo and the United Badge standing out on each side......

of cos la, since when were there strings on a shirt. hahhaha
to be honest my first impression of the new kit isnt good. It looks like someone just insert a V because it has to be there.
But the more you look at it, the more you see that it is there to match and balance the red of the jersey. i think it is a kit which matures with time, the more u look at it the nicer it looks.

Is this Manchester United's new home kit for next season? We have brightened up images released to tease Nike's new kit for the 2009/10 season.
New look: this image of Park Ji-Sung clearly shows the distinctive black stripe across the chest and matching black collarMedia outlets today received these "official Nike teaser images" ahead of the launch on July 1. These images are in semi-darkness, and reveal little about the new design..However, by using software to lighten the images, we have identified the characteristics of the new kit, as seen above.A black 'v-shape' stripe features on the shirt's chest, which also features a black round-neck collar. The stripe is reminiscent of shirts worn by Manchester United during the 1908-09 season, when they reached the FA Cup final.
"The new Manchester United home kit has been designed by Nike to recognise the clubs glorious history at Old Trafford in the ground’s centenary year and features several design cues that pay homage to the side that first played at the Theatre of Dreams," read a release issued on behalf of Nike.
The socks are black but appear to have a red V stretching around the back, similar to the V on the front of the shirt. The white shorts have a thick red stripe running down the outside.
The teaser images still carry the logo of AIG, the American insurance giants, whose contract with the Premier League champions expires at the end of next season.
In March we published leaked pictures of a possible prototype kit which carried a red V on a white shirt.

MANCHESTER UNITED fans want their new rugby league-style kit kicked into touch - before it goes on sale next month.
Wayne Rooney shows off the new strip with V-shaped chevron.
But United fan Nick Cooper said: "It looks more like a rugby league strip. It also looks a bit American. I've not been a fan of the United kits for years."
The shirt's design is in tribute to the shirt worn in 1909-10 when Old Trafford opened.
Lifelong Red Devils fan Jim Ferry said: "It won't do anything for Wayne Rooney! It's something you'd expect to see on a rugby league player.''
But Roo said: "I think the kits are really nice. It's always exciting to see the new kit and I'm excited about playing in it."
Ji-Sung Park said: "I like to think of it as V for victory and hopefully we can win every game we play in the new kits!"

was really looking forward to buy the new jersey until i saw the design.... my jaw dropped and i just can't believe nike actually came up with something so ugly! the stupid arrow, V, whatever u call it design is like a torn in the flesh, it's just irritating to look at!
i think maybe if it was white it MIGHT look nice but then regardless, the design is just plain boring and lame...
take a look at the Adidas jerseys for Chelsea and liverpool... i think i'll just buy a liverpool jersey and iron on my own Man Utd badge over it... haha
