Victor Valdes’ agent has admitted the goalkeeper is struggling to find an agreement with Barcelona over his future at Camp Nou.
Agent Gines Carvajal insists Valdes wants to stay at Barcelona, but he cannot guarantee the keeper will stay amidst reports of a summer move to Manchester United.
Valdes has just one year left on his current contract and Carvajal concedes reports that there are problems between player and club are true.
"It's complicated," he told Catalan radio station Rac1. "There are differences, because if there weren't then we would have already renewed.
"Our desire is to continue negotiating. On our part, we are not breaking up any talks and Barca have not told me that they are either."
Valdes was La Liga’s top keeper this season and, with Edwin van der Sar showing signs of weakness in the Champions League final, it is reported Sir Alex Ferguson wants the Barcelona keeper as the Dutchman’s replacement.
However, Carvajal insists such a move will only develop if Barca tell Valdes he is not wanted.
"We don't have any offers and nor are we going to listen to any, wherever they come from, because Victor has a year left on his contract and he owes it to Barcelona.
"We don't want to listen to anything which will distract us from the idea of renewing at Barcelona.
"Our desire is that the situation sorts itself out. As we still have a lot of time, that's where we are."
