Defender John Arne Riise and his Roma team-mates are fans of Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher.
The former Liverpool left back is readying himself for a double-header of World Cup qualifiers for Norway, as they bid to make up ground in Group 9.
Scotland are currently second in this group but Fletcher will not be in action as George Burley’s side are inactive in the next two rounds of matches.
Fletcher was unlucky to miss out on a Champions League final berth following his controversial red card against Arsenal in the semi-final second leg but his overall efforts were not lost on Roma.
“Fletcher had an excellent season. I was amazed by his performances,” Riise said in the Daily Record.
“My team-mates at Roma said to me they’d never seen so much energy from one player as they did in Fletcher in the two Champions League semi-final games against Arsenal.
“He was missed in that final.”
