Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has ruled Wes Brown out for the remainder of the season.
The versatile defender has had a foot problem but was pencilled in to return for the trip to Middlesbrough last weekend.
However, the England international has had a setback and misses out on the exciting end to the campaign.
United are top of the league going into the home straight and meet Barcelona in a dream Champions League final in Rome.
Brown returned for two games in January, against West Brom and Everton, but his injury problems have wrecked his season after playing regularly last term and crossing for Cristiano Ronaldo's goal in the Champions League final in Moscow.
John O'Shea, Rafael da Silva and Gary Neville provide plenty of cover in the right back area for Ferguson.
