Wayne Rooney has urged Manchester United to sign strike partner Carlos Tevez on a permanent basis.
For months now Tevez’s long-running transfer saga has sparked debate and there is still no deal in sight for the Argentine.
Manager Sir Alex Ferguson has expressed his desire to keep the 25-year-old but the £26 million demanded for the player remains a stumbling block.
Rooney, along with the thousands of fans who regularly chant ‘Fergie sign him up’, wants Tevez to stay and says he relishes playing with the diminutive powerhouse.
“The fans want him to stay. The players want him to stay,” he told the Daily Star.
“He’s not said anything to me on the training ground about his position but then again I can’t understand him that much.
“I thought his heart was here though. He wants to stay.
“You can hear the fans singing for him to sign. And hopefully he will stay because he’s brilliant. He’s so unselfish and gives everything to the team.
“He was the reason why we created so many chances against Arsenal in the first 30 minutes at Old Trafford on Wednesday.
“I have played with him for over two years now and I love playing with him.
“The fans love players who give so much like him in every game and work hard for the team. And Carlos certainly does that every time he plays for United.

yes, the key is he is not owned by a club but an organisation which is determined to get max out of tevez and that's 30M++.
Imagine, that price and Tevez's scoring record, just don't go hand in hand.
if this goes thru, Tevez will have to resigned to coming off the bench, unless SAF wants to play his four up front. Cause Rooney is finding life in left wing.
if it doesn't go thru, Tevez will go to another club and MU will see where they can plant the 30M, cause they do have some young strikers coming thru.
Of course The Roon wants Tevez to say, else Roon will the fugliest in ManU!
it all depends on the club nt rooney
why not each Manchester United players come up with money on their own to raise the 30million for his transfer???
Hahaha.... players can take matters into their own hands too?
