Manchester United set to kick off their pre-season tour in Asia against Malaysian select side
Manchester United will open their high-profile summer tour of Asia against a Malaysian Select XI in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday, July 18.
United's whistle-stop visit - they will arrive on July 17 and leave immediately after the game - should at least be some compensation for having to cancel a trip to the country two years ago due to arguments over their presence during the AFC Asian Cup.
The Red Devils have specifically asked for an earlier 5.30pm kick-off to allow more supporters to get to the 90,000-capacity Bukit Jalil, where the Commonwealth Games were held seven years ago. It will be United's fourth visit to Malaysia.
Earlier this week, United confirmed they will close their four-match trip in Hangzhou in China. They are also set to play matches in Jakarta and Seoul, where they received such a rapturous welcome two years ago.

Man Utd once came to Singapore .... i was at Thomson Plaza with my good old buddy who supported MU , now still do .
That was way back , i think 1986 ??? Think so .
I saw Mark Hughes ... hey man , he's a Big , real big fella .
And Chris Turner .
Remi Mosses , Kevin Moran , Mcgrath .... Peter Barnes ... Think Colin Gibson was there ... And Lee Martin . Arthur Albiston ...
It's not Ron Atkinson who brought them in , its Brown .
But fuck la ..... a waste of my time ... they werer sweating like hell , and 5 minutes later , they are off to the Coach .
A 5 minutes appearance .
Robson was not there , i think he went to the World Cup with England .

you are right poolman, robson was with england at the world cup in Mexico in 1986. I remembered Man Utd came to Singapore in 1986. Wales did not qualify for the world cup, hence he was able to come to Singapore. Hey Poolman, how old were you in 1986? 15?
