Manchester United are tracking Spanish starlet Victor Mongil, who is currently with Real Valladolid.
However, the youngster insists he wants to begin his professional career with his present club Valladolid.
The 16-year-old central defender is regarded as a huge prospect in his homeland and is a regular in the Spanish Under-17 squad.
He is yet to sign a professional contract in Spain, and United's scouts are hot on his trail after he caught their eye in the recent European qualifiers.
The mini-tournament was played in Benidorm and Mongil shone as Spain eased through a group consisting of Belgium, Kazakhstan and Czech Republic.
Reports in Spain and England now suggest United are ready to make their move for Mongil - but the player insists he has not heard anything from the Old Trafford giants.
"My idea is to go far in football and to play in the Primera Liga with Valladolid," said Mongil.
"I know about the rumours, but I really have not spoken with any club.
"At the end of the season I will decide on any formal offers."
United are seemingly in the market for a young defender to bolster their youth set-up as they have also been linked with Corinthians' 15-year-old defender Dodo.
