Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed Darren Fletcher will return for Manchester United's game against Portsmouth on Wednesday.
Fletcher has missed United's last three matches with a minor injury and was one of several players left behind in Manchester for Sunday's FA Cup semi-final defeat by Everton.
United welcome Pompey to Old Trafford in midweek in the Premier League and Scotland international Fletcher will be back in the squad.
However, Ferguson revealed fellow midfielder Michael Carrick is struggling to shake off a minor complaint in order to take his place in the team.
"We left quite a few players back in Manchester and they'll all be ready for Wednesday," Ferguson told MUTV.
"Darren Fletcher will be fit, for example, but maybe Michael Carrick is the one we'll have to assess a bit more, he could be a close call."
Wayne Rooney will return after Ferguson dismissed reports that the striker had suffered a metatarsal injury in last week's UEFA Champions League win at Porto.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Edwin van der Sar, John O'Shea and Ryan Giggs could also come back into the United starting line-up against Pompey after not being involved at Wembley.
Wes Brown. Out since November but coming back.
While Wednesday's Premier League clash with Portsmouth is likely to come much too soon for Brown given the length of time he has been out of action, Ferguson will waste no time in bringing him back into the first-team fold.
Meanwhile, Ferguson has confirmed Darren Fletcher will be fit when United resume their title challenge, having missed the last two games with a minor hamstring problem.
Gd for Mu to have a few good day rest .

A lost for Liverpool , less stress to play Pompey .
A win for Liverpool , the stress will be more than just one point .
whether Rooney coming back or not , to Liverpool , makes no diff , every game for us it's like a Cup Final .

the two teams not playing each other, so won't affect each other.
both team will be playing arsenal though, so how arsenal perform against either team will be crucial. If Arsenal played weakly against liverpool but strongly against man u, than man U is screwed. same the other way round.
From the looks of it now.. Liverpool is stronger than Arsenal..
Liver-Ars 4-4.. nice.. got chance for us to extend lead.
now that ArseAnal has drawn with Liverpool..i guess it's time for Man Utd to just finish it la...Just dun play berbacock and that welbeck can le..

Take away Arshavin from 2 of those 3... That is still quite a good deal...

comfortable game. i say the gamble for the fa cup didnt pay off.
well, we could just end that game in different ways but i think if we were to give up one, it would be a good one to lose simply because liverpool isnt in contention. =D
