Manchester United are reportedly keeping tabs on Brazilian starlet Douglas Costa after he received a glowing recommendation from former Red Jaap Stam.
The Gremio midfielder, 18, has been attracting the attention of clubs from all over Europe in recent times, with Villarreal having an £8 million bid rejected by the Brazilian club.
However with Inter, Real Madrid and Liverpool being reported as fans of the youngster dubbed the new Ronaldinho, his future looks to be away from his homeland and is due to talk with interested clubs at the end of the month, with The Premier League his first-choice destination.
United though have reputedly sent Stam to keep an eye on the talented rookie as he is their South American scout, and Sir Alex Ferguson may well bid to bring another wonderkid to Old Trafford.
Costa’s advisor Chris Nathaniel told The Sun: “The boy is special and loves The Premier League. He has a lot of offers to consider.”
Costa recently signed a new deal at Gremio, but has a release clause reportedly set at £21 million.
Who cares bout this Brazilian, when did Jaap Stam, the man-mountain, become a United scout?!! LAWL.
