dont think macheda will be playing in this fixture cl. no space for him and i think he abit inexperienced for this kind of game.
Game a lil too big even for him. He only 17 yrs old mah. Still got so many years left for him to play in champs league.
he can be used as a super sub. he is like a spark from nowhere.
Sir Alex Ferguson does not expect Rio Ferdinand to shake off a back injury in time for Manchester United’s Champions League quarter final with Porto.
Ferdinand missed United’s dramatic 3-2 win over Aston Villa on Sunday after picking up a back injury on international duty.
Ferguson feels the chances of Ferdinand shrugging off the problem are slim, but he will be able to call on Nemanja Vidic who returns from suspension.
"I don't think any of the injured players will be back against Porto," the United boss told MUTV. "But we do have the suspended players back which is good.
"’Vida' will play alongside Jonny Evans at the back with John O'Shea moving to right back.
"Rooney and Scholes are also available which will give us a bit more penetration and experience, and Ji-sung Park will also be ready so I've got some good options for Tuesday.”
Ryan Giggs played 90 minutes against Villa on Sunday and Ferguson feels a Champions League clash on the Tuesday could come too soon.
He added "I'll have to assess how Ryan is after playing the 90 minutes against Villa.
"It's a big ask for someone at 35 years of age to play another game two days later at the kind of level we play."
Fergie was unable to call upon centre-back pairing Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic for the 3-2 win over Aston Villa on Sunday. And the Portuguese champions are next up at Old Trafford tomorrow in the Champions League quarter-final first leg.
While Vidic will return from suspension, Ferdinand is still touch and go with a back injury. And after doing his homework, Ferguson admits Porto's South American duo Hulk and Lisandro will provide the main threat.
He told ESPN: “I’ve been watching the videos the last couple of weeks and they’re very difficult to play against in their own ground — they have a terrific record there.
“It goes down to the first leg. Hopefully we can get a two-goal lead. If we get a two-goal lead it gives us the best opportunity without question.
“And we need that. Looking at their home record and how difficult they are to play against on their home ground I think we’re going to need that two-goal lead.
“Hulk played in both games I saw — on the right hand side the first time and through the middle in the second. “He is a left-footed player, a big powerful lad with good pace and very, very strong. “I think he and Lisandro the centre forward are both very important players.”
Ferdinand and Vidic were among six first-team regulars missing at the weekend, with Ferguson's squad stretched to the limit. But the 67-year-old claims he does not know his best line-up anyway, preferring to keep a horses-for-courses policy.
He added: "It’s true to say that I don’t look upon things as having a first team. “I could probably pick the best 11 players but not necessarily in the right positions — and that’s maybe easier than picking the right team than for a particular big game.
“You’d have to give a lot of thought as to what team was going to win the game and that involves tactics, which in turn involves who your opponents are. “And that’s where difficulties arise in saying what your best team is.”

lol. i got it off from where i got the news.
Prediction for Tonight's XI
I hope he sticks with Fletch in the middle though.
shldnt be a problem.
If want to keep ball in the midfield.. fletcher better than carrick.. fletcher makes better anchor..
My guess is United might not start with Tevez... Cos he just came back from the other side of the world then played against Villa immediately and now 2 days later only I doubt he will be fully fit...
My take on the starting squad...
Man Utd squad:
Van der Sar
O'Shea / Ferdinand / Vidic / Evra
Ronaldo / Anderson / Scholes / Fletcher / Park
Rooney
Subs:
Ben Foster, Evans, Carrick, Nani, Gibson, Macheda, Tevez
Nobody watching meh ???
Where are all the devils...
slowly waiting for time to pass lor...
