Manchester United's title aspirations have been dealt another blow with news of an injury for Brazilian midfielder Anderson.
The 20-year-old had looked set to deputise for the suspended Paul Scholes against Aston Villa on Sunday.
But a thigh injury picked up in training for Brazil on Monday has ruled him out of Wednesday's World Cup qualifier against Peru and his hopes of returning to face The Villans look slim.
A statement on the Brazilian Football Confederation's website said: "The player, under the assistance of team doctor Jose Luis Runco, had an MRI scan on Tuesday afternoon in which the strain was confirmed.
"The player has started recovery treatment."
Although Anderson has not been a regular starter under his international coach Dunga, he had looked set to be involved in some capacity against the Peruvians.
Brazil are fourth in the South American qualifying zone, though, with 18 points and are heavy favourites with the bookmakers ahead of their clash with rock-bottom Peru.
He looks out of form and he hasnt scored a goal for united yet. Quite a poor statistic considering he's brazillian and an attacking midfielder. In fact, if he plays in midefield for man u now, the team will suffer becos of his inability to get the game flowing.
Btw, anyone noticed his two titties poking out? I think sportswear apparel companies shd consider introducing nipple covers.
zzz he is not placed as an AM during games for united mostly....

What's ur definition of attack midfielder? If fergie does play him, it's becos of an attacking mentality in mind duh. He really needs more goals in future to be considered in the class of scholes, lampard and gerrard.

its when usually he plays he is reduced to a more defensive role. seldom see him attacking though...must be my eyes

nope, I also unsure whether he AM or DM.. In the past he is quite smart that he uses his body to block the attacker and take the ball, but a few times now, i saw him being over-powered.. perhaps they know his "tricks"..
anyway he is still 20 and has alot to learn..why call him a flop now
flop.
nv rate him highly.
he better buck up n stop dancing like a monkey.

The only thing cool about him is that he takes excellent penalties. As for brazillian flair and samba, nvr see b4 leh. Maybe he will exit like kleberson.
The only difference between him and Kleberson is Anderson's good work rate and Anderson has scored 0 goals.
