Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson believes his father Sir Alex could retire at the end of the 2010/2011 season.
The Posh chief is doing a marvellous job as the London Road outfit are on track for promotion to The Championship but believes it is difficult to envisage an all-family affair in a Premier League fixture.
Ferguson Snr is challenging on all fronts with Manchester United this term and some reckon the 67-year-old is waiting for the right time to step down.
"His health is fine and he's building a new team," declared Darren Ferguson.
"If they win this year, then they catch Liverpool in terms of league titles won. That will be in his mind.
"I can see him doing this year and next - and then that might be it for him.
"I don't think Dad will wait for me before he retires - there's no guarantee I'll get to The Premier League.
"But, as a club, we do have a plan to get there. We are ambitious."
