Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov will miss Bulgaria's 2010 World Cup qualifiers away to Ireland on March 28 and at home against Cyprus four days later due to an ankle injury.
The 28-year-old Bulgaria captain, who boasts a remarkable scoring ratio with 41 goals in 67 full internationals, suffered the injury during United's 2-0 loss at Fulham in the English Premier League on Saturday.
"There's no chance Berbatov of playing against Ireland and Cyprus," Bulgarian national team doctor Mihail Iliev told local state television on Sunday.
"I've told to Manchester United's medical staff and they informed me that he'll need to rest in the next two weeks and his foot will be immovable during that period," he added.

If I was him, I would want to keep the EPL tittle.

Well, the squad actually does have the depth to win it all, i guess Welbeck can play against Everton in the FA cup, Rooney and Tevez against Villa. Ronaldo and Giggs can play as strikers as well
I just realized we are 1 game behind, I hope we can make use of that other game against Portsmouth as a wildcard!
blessing in disguise.
well, one thing for sure, our core players are getting good rest..
vidic/rooney and now berba cause from now till the end of season, the pace is frantic.

Agreed, its too early for x'mas.
Rooney should have started the Fulham game, argh, still can't accept the fact he didn't!

unsure why SAF was playing a 4-4-1-1, with Ronaldo just behind Berba.. It just renders Berba useless.. To me, Fletcher is too much a CM, than a RW.. With the lost against Poo, players such as Rooney will be so fired up.. but now, things seems glim..
but then, MU flourish under these conditions, right?

I hope so, next game is against Villa right?
Dam we can't break down anymore...
Fergie should always pay Ron on the wings, I feel hes like shit playing as a striker.
Rooney was definatly fired up when he came on, what a shame he came on too late, oh wells we just got to look forward.
3 striker, 2 down, 1 left.
Now will see the importance of Tevez... His chance to shine, and win the games...
and did anyone notice something on our left flank?..JS Park's been a regular on the left prefered to nani and giggs...Nani definitely is more dangerous on the flanks with his runs and crosses which i deem as the best currently in the squad.Couple with that,he has a good shot and proficient in his set pieces espeically corners which often led to goals. It's still puzzling to me why he has been left out alot this season while the not so effective park's been playing more.
Oh no, less 1 diver in bird bird tor.
