Reports that Ben Foster has already received a new contract offer are unfounded, according to the agent of the young Manchester United goalkeeper.
The
25-year-old goalkeeper, who has only played for the Red Devils on seven
occasions, was instrumental in the League Cup win over Tottenham
Hotspur on Sunday, saving a Jamie O'Hara penalty in the shootout.
Some
sections of the English media have been recording that Foster has an
offer on the table and that an extension of his current deal is a mere
formality away, but these reports are premature at best.
"Reports suggesting Ben has agreed a new deal are not true," agent Lee Payne insisted on skysports.com.
"Ben is very happy at the moment, but as yet we have not held any talks with United."
The
6ft 4in shot-stopper has already been capped once by England and is
being tipped to become the Three Lions' No. 1 in the coming years.
