If Huddlestone, Lennon, Pavlyuchenko & Modric are among the PK takers, Spurs more likely to trouble van der Sar during the PK

yup, i agree... but all of them, including van der sar, did not take part in the PK
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson admitted his team had Ben
Foster to thank after winning the League Cup against Tottenham Hotspur
on penalties.
The two sides couldn’t find a goal in 120 minutes of football at Wembley as the Carling Cup final went to penalties.
Ryan
Giggs took the first kick for the Red Devils before Ben Foster saved
Jamie O’Hara’s effort to hand United an early advantage.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Ferguson admitted that the save had given his side an
early boost, he said, “Well they took their penalties very confidently
and Ben Foster made a fantastic first save which gave us a big lift.”
Carlos
Tevez, Vedran Corluka and Cristiano Ronaldo then all converted their
kicks before David Bentley hit his penalty wide to allow Anderson to
take the decisive spot kick and hand United the trophy.
Whilst
the Scot was undeniably pleased to lay his hands on yet more silverware
he did admit that he was disappointed at having had to play extra-time.
The United manager explained, “To be honest with you I could
have done without the extra time, because we have a tough game on
Wednesday [in the Premier League against Newcastle United] and I’ll
need to freshen up.”
Today’s victory means United’s quest for an
unprecedented quadruple remains on target and Ferguson was quick to
emphasise where his focus now lay, he said, “The league is the priority
and the Champions League also.”
Woot, Fuck Tomaz! WE GOT BEN!

well, they did not step up to the plate and that's most counted..
and the keeper is not Van Der Sar.. or you watching another game?
well, not that I am cherry-picking..
I believe Evra must be having nightmare thinking of Lennon.. and it is first time, I see Evra outplayed. be it the pitch or etc, he had had a torrid time..
clearly, nani has improved in terms of distribution and track back. Also, he is not going to the ground as much..
Tevez can't function as a lone striker, it makes him run so much and he see so little of the ball but the minute he gets the ball, he is desperate to send it to the stands..
Anderson is a mystery. Initially, I tot he was brought on to either mark Jenas or Modric, but he did neither. Instead, his charges were a nice sight but no sadly, end product..
Welbeck and Gibson were over-hyped and certainly did not perform to what they can do..
schole long ball pass really sibei sibei good.
lawl, before the kicks, Foster was watching a vid on how the Spurs players took their PKs.
"We have done a lot of research into the way each player is going to put their penalty," Foster, 25, explained after Sunday's success.
"We went into the shootout as well prepared as possible.
"We have had things to look at over the last couple of days and before the shootout you can see me looking at an iPod with Eric Steele.
"It had actual video on it and showed where players put things."
Steele introduced the research aid to training after being appointed as goalkeeping coach following the decision of Tony Coton to step down due to injury.

Foster can be England No1
Monday March 2,2009
CARLING Cup hero Ben Foster joined the iPod generation to earn Manchester United a penalty shoot-out success over Tottenham in the final.
Foster kept out Jamie O’Hara’s opening spot-kick for Spurs as United netted all their penalties to win the shoot-out 4-1 and lift the cup after 120 minutes without a goal yesterday.
The victory completed a wonderful weekend for United as Liverpool’s slip-up meant they are also closing in on the Premier League title and could still finish the season with a record-breaking five trophies.
As Tottenham keeper Heurelho Gomes was laughing and joking before the Wembley shoot-out, Foster was doing a bit of last-minute homework with United coach Eric Steele that proved to be vital.
His save completed a double heartbreak for O’Hara, who also cried after being left out of Tottenham’s Carling Cup success last year.
“I did a bit of research for the penalties,” said Foster. “We tried to find out everything we could about Spurs. Just before the shoot-out I was looking at an iPod with Eric Steele, our goalkeeping coach, and on it were Tottenham penalties, including one from O’Hara. They just told me to stand up, be strong and it will probably go to my left.
“It is great it worked out for me. It is a new innovation that Eric brought when he arrived at the club last summer.”
United manager Sir Alex Ferguson hailed Foster as the “future” of Old Trafford and England after watching him save from O’Hara and keep out Aaron Lennon and Darren Bent in open play.
“The future is Ben’s,” said Ferguson. “Give that experience in a final, that strengthens his own belief. I think he’ll be England’s goalkeeper for the next number of years.”
But Ferguson was not so happy with referee Chris Foy, who booked Cristiano Ronaldo when he went down in the penalty area under a challenge from Ledley King. “He couldn’t wait to book him quick enough because it’s Ronaldo,” said Ferguson. And on the possibility of five trophies this season, he added: “We’ll keep our feet on the ground. My experience says we could go to Fulham next weekend and a deflected shot off someone’s backside and we’re out of the FA Cup.”
David Bentley also missed in the shoot-out, and manager Harry Redknapp found it hard to defend the midfielder.
“It was a poor penalty for a player who can strike a ball as well as he can,” said Redknapp. “O’Hara was the first to volunteer, but that was well saved.”
Having gone through the baptism of penalty-taking fire in Moscow, I believe none of the Utd players is nervous about penalties taking. The way they took their spot kicks for the Community Shield and the League Cup belies their confidence. Other teams unfortunately do not have much of a chance in getting involved in competitive spot-kicks.
Maybe they should just go for a goalless draw against Inter and beat them on penalties!
What a spectacular match! Kept me on the edge of my seat right till the end even though I was horribly sleepy by then. Although the Carling Cup isn't that much of a big deal, I was screaming in joy when Foster saved O'Hara's shot.
We have a new hero in town. Guess Van Der Sar won't have to worry about his successor.
GLORY GLORY MAN UNITED!
