Manchester United vs Blackburn
Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney has been out of action since
January 14, when he picked up a hamstring injury after scoring what
proved to be the winner against Wigan Athletic.
He has missed seven games for United and also England's humbling in Seville at the hands of European champions Spain.
However,
in the aftermath of the Red Devils' 4-1 FA Cup win at Derby County, Old
Trafford gaffer Sir Alex Ferguson revealed that 'Roo' could be on the
bench in midweek for the clash with Fulham, and should be ready to play
against Blackburn Rovers at the weekend.
The wily Scot told the
club's official website, "Wayne should be ready for Saturday's game
against Blackburn, we're quite confident of that.
"He may have a slight chance of being fit for a place on the bench on Wednesday."
The
news will come as a boost for United ahead of their trip to Italy to
face Jose Mourinho's Inter in the Champions League next week.
Despite having spent over a month on the sidelines, Rooney has found the net 12 times in all competitions this term.

oh yeah in rafa we trust!
Blackburn Rovers boss Sam Allardyce was at Old Trafford this week to watch Manchester United stroll past Fulham to a 3-0 victory.
And so impressed was he by Sir Alex Ferguson's mob that he declared they would soon become known as the Scot's most formidable side.
Allardyce told The Sun,
“For me, [this team] will be the best. You look at this United team and
you see youth, vibrancy, talent and more players with all those
qualities than he has ever had before.
“As well as that, he has
the last hurrah of the Fergie fledglings, as they were called. They are
still in amongst it, showing how it should be done.”
Indeed,
the likes of Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Gary Neville are still going
strong, with the former two in particular remaining indispensable cogs
in the United machine.
“Those three will not let the other players forget ‘This is Manchester United, this is how it is’,” Allardyce continued.
“They still have a massive influence on the way Manchester United should be and the way you should be when you play for them.”
The
Red Devils' win over the Cottagers put them five points clear atop the
Premier League table, and they will continue their Champions League
defence next week when they take on Inter in the last 16.
And does Allardyce believe United are capable of rewriting history by retaining both their European and domestic titles?
“I
believe they can do it, definitely. And if they do that Double again,
you cannot argue against them being Sir Alex’s best,” the former Bolton
Wanderers boss said.
“You can’t see past them for the league
right now and they showed last season they are the strongest side in
Europe. They have got better since.
“No one wins the league and
Champions League in successive seasons but they can. That alone will
make them the greatest team Sir Alex has ever had.”

not tevez?
Two £20 million+ strikers, two men who have tasted Bundesliga football before arriving in England. But who's better?
Berbatov, by a mile...
Santa Cruz is only a shooter... Berba is a more complete player... Can pass, can create and can shoot better also in my opinion... No fight...

I think Tevez won't start
Nemanja Vidic is wary of the attacking threat posed by Blackburn Rovers ahead of United’s Premier League encounter with Sam Allardyce’s side.
Vidic singled out Benni McCarthy and Roque Santa Cruz as two players the Reds will have to nullify if they are to clinch a tenth consecutive Premier League win on Saturday.
“McCarthy has scored a few goals this season and he has good technique”, Vidic told United Review. “Santa Cruz has pace too, and it is going to be a difficult game against an organised and physical team.
“But we are at home and we know what we can do here, so we’ll have to think about doing our best in order to win the game.”
The 27-year-old Serbian has been a rock at the back for United in the current campaign and it is perhaps his acute awareness of opponents' strengths that has contributed to the team's record-breaking defensive run.
But, typically, Vidic is fearless of the physical threat Blackburn will bring to Old Trafford.
“It’s not just about the physical game”, he insisted. “It’s about sticking to doing your defending and winning the battle with the player you’re against. If you have to use a bit of strength then that’s what you do, but different players bring different challenges and you must adapt.”
