Becks, 33, has made it clear he wants to quit LA Galaxy for a permanent switch to Milan.
And Ferdinand is delighted to see his former Manchester United team-mate back in top form.
The United ace said: "Becks has had a lot challenges throughout his career and he has come through them all with flying colours.
"I've seen him at Milan and he looks as though he is enjoying his football.
"He has a zest about him again and, having talked to him, it's obvious he is having the time of his life."
Beckham is set to equal Bobby Moore's 108-cap record when England play Spain on Wednesday.
And Ferdinand believes the midfielder fully deserves the opportunity to join the legendary Moore in the history books.
He added: "He's still an integral member of the squad.
"As the manager has said it is just a case of him being fit enough to play in the games.
"Just to get to 100 caps is an unbelievable achievement.
"But to then be able to equal Bobby Moore's record is phenomenal. Long may it continue."
