  i think msn utd can win..ferdinand and vidic together again charlton cole on form wont be much of a threat =D

  well, potentially, the backline that won the UCL is back.. Evra, brown is back together with vidic and Rio.. and rooney is also back plus nani so full steam ahead..

  Wayne Rooney Could Feature In Manchester United’s West Ham Fixture

  Manchester United's Premier League title challenge could be handed a huge boost this weekend with the return to action of Wayne Rooney.
  
  According to a report in British tabloid newspaper The Sun, the England international striker has already resumed full training after injury.
  
  The 23-year-old has been out of action since suffering a hamstring problem against Wigan Athletic on January 14, so manager Sir Alex Ferguson will only pick him if he is confident Rooney has fully recovered.
  
  It is thought that, should the former Everton star not make the Red Devils squad to travel to Upton Park on Sunday, he could make his Manchester United return in the FA Cup fifth round clash against either Nottingham Forest or Derby County on February 15.

  I don't think Rooney will play in this match... Fergie won't want Fabio to select him for England so will most likely not even keep him on the bench to show he is not fit...

  But Capello will still be at this match to watch Carrick, Rio, Brown and West Ham striker, Carlton Cole.

  ROO DECISION UP TO CAPELLO

  

     

     

     

     

     

  Sir Alex Ferguson will leave it up to England coach Fabio Capello to decide whether to take Wayne Rooney to Seville for next week's friendly with Spain.

     

  The Manchester United striker is in Ferguson's squad to face West Ham on Sunday but has already been told he will not be starting the match.

     

  Ferguson revealed the bad weather this week has meant United have done less arduous training sessions than he had hoped, which has cost Rooney the vital edge he needed to start against the Hammers.

  The United manager intends to speak with Capello to give the Italian the latest update on Rooney's fitness, but will leave it to the England coach to make the final decision.

  Capello is due to name his squad on Saturday evening and Rooney would almost certainly be part of it if the England coach feels he can make a worthwhile contribution.

  Indeed, Rooney might actually benefit from a 20-minute substitute appearance, although Ferguson has made it clear that is a decision Capello must take for himself.

  "I have not spoken to Fabio but I hope to do so in order to explain the situation," said Ferguson.

  "He can then decide after dialogue with the physios whether it is worth taking Wayne to Seville.

  "I have no strong issue with that. It is a question of whether he would play or be a substitute, which is the same position as I am in.

  "It is up to Fabio. I really have no strong objection to that."

  Ferguson also confirmed Gary Neville will miss the West Ham trip with a virus that forced him to come off against Everton last Saturday.

  His automatic replacement, Wes Brown, does have a bruised foot, but is expected to play.

  Fergie don't want to be accused of preventing Rooney to play for England mah so he use a softer way to overcome Fabio lor... He probably would say Rooney just recover, not fully match fit but can run lah... So its up to you lor... Then knowing Fabio already said he won't selecte players not playing or fully fit... Fabio pai seh can't go back on his words so won't select Roon lor...

  If Fergie used the same style as he did with McClaren, then Fabio may not be happy and ask Rooney to travel to London for a check-up like he did with Gerrard mah... lol

  a moment of brilliance separate the two sides but i kinda like how west ham is playing.

  the whole team is playing like a unit, with every single player knowing where their team mates are going to do.

  West Ham 0-1 Man Utd: Ryan Giggs' goal keeps champions top of the table

   

  

  A rare right-footed goal from Ryan Giggs and a rather more predictable 13th consecutive Barclays Premier League clean sheet were enough for Manchester United to reclaim top spot.

  In a lacklustre game of huff and puff, with not much else in between, Edwin van der Sar never looked in serious danger of being denied a British record for not conceding a goal that now extends to 1,212 minutes.

  But United looked equally unlikely to score either until Giggs stepped inside Carlton Cole, burst into the box and thrashed home a shot that was enough to end West Ham's impressive eight-match unbeaten run at Upton Park and edge closer to the championship triumph that will see the Old Trafford outfit match Liverpool's impressive tally.

  Hammers old boys Rio Ferdinand and Michael Carrick were given warm ovations but Carlos Tevez received an even louder burst of applause in recognition of his efforts in the Eastenders' survival fight two years ago, which continues to cause the Premier League so much grief.

  The hosts reserved their usual white-hot atmosphere for a United visit on 'Bobby Moore day', in recognition of a man who will shortly have to share top billing with David Beckham on 108 caps for England.

  That appreciation continued once the match started too, as Matthew Upson slid in on Giggs to execute a perfect tackle of which Moore himself would have been proud.

  By that point, Giggs had already sliced a volley wide in an encouraging start for the champions that also involved a couple of trademark piledrivers from Paul Scholes, one of which Cristiano Ronaldo turned goalwards, forcing Robert Green to make an impressive save.

  A brilliant passage of close control involving Giggs, Tevez and Dimitar Berbatov ended with the Bulgarian lashing a volley goalwards that James Collins found himself accidentally in the way of.

  Another move of similar quality brought a Nemanja Vidic shot into the body of the same man and it seemed just a matter of time before United eventually made the breakthrough.

  Instead, with Upson outstanding and Scott Parker snapping into a series of tackles in midfield, the Hammers slowly got themselves a foothold in the contest.

  If ever there was a man needing to impress watching England coach Fabio Capello, it was Carlton Cole. Unfortunately, Cole turned like a giant barge as he collected Jack Collison's short pass with his back to goal.
