Norway are confident of securing the coaching services of Manchester United legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the future.
Egil Olsen, the former Wimbledon boss, has taken over as coach for the next three fixtures against Germany, South Africa and Finland but discussions have already taken place with Solskjaer, who is currently United's reserve team manager.
Olsen's appointment was confirmed at a press conference and, although he would like to extend the stint, news leaked out of the interest in the Old Trafford idol further down the line.
"We have talked with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and he has said he is in favour of a role around the national team again in the future, " said Norwegian FA general secretary Karen Espelund.
"As of today, it is too early to say when it could happen but we are very happy that Solskjaer has said that he will have a role in the national team in the future."
Much will depend on how settled the former striker is in Manchester, where he is learning the skills of the trade under old master Sir Alex Ferguson.
There already appears to be much interest in Solskjaer's coaching credentials but if he displays the same level of patience he showed as a player, he will continue to climb the ladder at United.
good, then indirectly, he can scout for MU also..
