Manchester United's mid-season trip to Japan was ultimately a rewarding one, as they left with the Club World Cup after defeating LDU Quito in the final.
It was not such a happy times for Dimitar Berbatov, however, as the sulky striker spent the entire time laid up with a rather nasty bout of the flu.
"Personally, the week in Japan was the worst week of my life," he told the Daily Mail.
"It's always bad when you are not involved, but it ended happily with the team winning the trophy, and now we have two League wins over Christmas."
Berbatov found the net as the Red Devils edged out Middlesbrough on Monday, taking his Premier League tally this season to three.
It is not quite the return Sir Alex Ferguson was expecting when he paid Tottenham Hotspur over £30 million for the Bulgarian international, and many have questioned whether that money could have been better spent.
But the 27-year-old is determined to recapture the stunning form he displayed while at White Hart Lane, and he is confident of helping United to a third straight Prem crown.
"There is plenty more to come from me yet. I will keep working hard and, along with the other guys, I think we can do a lot," Berbatov said.
"We are there and we can win the title. If we win our games in hand, then it will be in our own hands."
Anyone also can talk big. Last season, adebayor talk about quitting arsenal if they win nothing. Fab talk about how arsenal will cope. van persie say we cannot end up with nothing. In the end, arsenal still end up with nothing and all the 3 players are still there lol.
At least he is committed... Its better for him to come out and state it clearly rather than keep quiet and just earn a salary...
