Fergie lavishes praise on Evans

Jonny Evans drew praise from Sir Alex Ferguson after being thrust into the heat of battle for Manchester United on Boxing Day.
The Red Devils were forced to shuffle their pack minutes before kick-off as Rio Ferdinand aggravated a back complaint and Evans was thrown into the fray.
Evans has long been held in high regard at Old Trafford and Ferguson feels he is the perfect player to have waiting in the wings.
"Jonny is an outstanding player,” said Ferguson. “We are fortunate to have such a talented boy to call on.
"At 20 he shows such maturity. He reads the game well, he uses the ball well and his pace is good.
”He has all the attributes of a top player."
