Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has reacted angrily to the latest rumours regarding Real Madrid's interest in Cristiano Ronaldo while Carlos Tevez has admitted an admiration for the Spanish giants.
Ferguson, speaking after the 5-3 win over Gamba Osaka in the World Club Cup, showed his exasperation when asked about news that leaked out of Madrid on Wednesday regarding the possibility of a secret deal already being struck to send the European Footballer of the Year to the Bernabeu next summer.
Ronaldo headed United's second goal on Thursday and Ferguson stormed: "Do you think I would get into a contract with that mob?
"Jesus Christ, no chance. I wouldn't sell them a virus.
"That's a no. There is absolutely no agreement at all between the clubs."
Real launched a concerted campaign, orchestrated through the Spanish media, in an attempt to sign Ronaldo during the close season and they will continue to make their intentions clear in 2009.
"I said to David Gill you can bet your life that in January the rumours will start up again," added Ferguson.
"We've just got to ignore them. We have got a difficult programme of matches coming up and need to just play our game and ignore them."
Meanwhile, Tevez has hinted he could be attracted by any offer from Real if he cannot resolve his future at Old Trafford.
The on-loan forward, who was substituted for Wayne Rooney in Japan, told Kicker: "Who wouldn't want to play for Real Madrid?
"But there are only rumours."
