Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has declared that none of
his latest batch of youngsters will be available for loan deals to
other clubs.
An understrength United overcame Blackburn Rovers
in the Carling Cup last night to ensure a semi-final berth in the
competition, and Fergie believes that his fringe players have what it
takes to make an impression at Old Trafford.
The Scot insists it is vital for the unity of the squad that the entire number is kept together.
Players
like Danny Welbeck, Darron Gibson and Raf\ael da Silva have all made a
strong impact at the club this season, and Ferguson recognises the
importance of having a fit and healthy panel.
He told the
press: "The one good thing is that we've got a big strong squad, I
won't be letting anyone else out on loan and I want to keep everyone
together because I'm going to need them.
"It's all about taking
their chance when it comes and they have done that and I'm pleased with
that but more importantly it adds to my squad when we're coming in the
second half of the season.
"We've got something like eight games in 26 days and I've got the squad to cope with that. It's a great bonus we've got now.
United's
League Cup run has taken then past three opponents, all at Old
Trafford, and Ferguson admits that he has learned a lot about his
second string over the course of those games.
He continued:
"Playing against Middlesbrough, QPR and against Blackburn, we learnt
something from them, their temperament, their ability to play in front
of the crowd at Old Trafford.
"They're never phased, that's the important thing. These young players have come through well."
The
Red Devils face a tricky period, with games in the Premier League,
Champions League, League Cup and FA Cup all scheduled in the next month
or so.
