Berbatov Ready To Quit Bulgaria
The Lions of Bulgaria were smashed to pieces by silky Serbia on Wednesday evening and sections of the fanbase are blaming Manchester United's Dimitar Berbatov for the nation's poor form.
Berba, who has scored 41 goals in 64 caps, has now had enough of the international scene and is threatening to tell the Bulgarian Football Union to count him out.
The hitman is a doubt for United's crucial clash with Aston Villa at the weekend, having limped out of the 6-1 battering after just half-an-hour with a hip problem. Hips don't lie and a thrashing ensued.
The Sun quotes his agent, Emile Danchev, as saying: “Dimitar said to me that, because people blame him for Bulgaria’s bad performances, he is ready to quit the national team.”
It would make sense. The 27-year-old started to throw his toys out of the pram when things went wrong at Spurs, eventually forcing a mega move to Old Trafford in the Summer. However, Danchev had better remind him that he can't switch to Dunga's Brazilian Seleção! -

United will lose striker Dimitar Berbatov for up to 10 days after he picked up a thigh injury on international duty with Bulgaria on Wednesday.
His agent, Emil Danchev, said: ‘According to Manchester United’s medical staff, Berbatov will be recovering between seven and 10 days.’
Berbatov was substituted after 30 minutes with cramp during Bulgaria’s 6-1 defeat to Serbia.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson also has minor doubts over Rio Ferdinand and Wayne Rooney while Owen Hargreaves is recovering from the first of two knee operations in an bid to cure tendinitis.
