Manchester United and England forward Wayne Rooney has missed training
this week because he has been suffering from a chest infection.
In
his pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash
with newly promoted Stoke City, Sir Alex Ferguson revealed that he
hopes the 23-year old will be well enough to compete on Saturday.
"Wayne
Rooney had a bit of a chest infection and he’s been off this week," Sir
Alex is quoted by the club's official website as saying.
"But hopefully he’ll be alright for tomorrow – I’m sure he will be."
United
players such as Darren Fletcher have said that they will bring the
battle to Stoke this weekend, and will have no problems matching the
Potters' physical style.
