Former Manchester United star Quinton Fortune has signed a one-year deal with Italian Serie B side Brescia.
The 31-year-old South African has been without a club since leaving Bolton two seasons ago and was on trial at Sheffield United.
Fortune has been training with Brescia for the past month to prove his fitness after a succession of knee problems.
Fortune said: "I am now physically ready and willing to take to the field and I just want to make a contribution after being out for so long."
The midfielder is in the squad for today's clash with Modena where a win for Brescia would lift them into the top four.
Fortune was part of the United squad that won three Premier League titles during his seven years at Old Trafford.
Haha was he considered a star when he was still at United? But he's a good player to have around. Utility player with a workhorse attitude.
