Hargreaves signed for United in 2007 for around £17 million from Bayern
Munich and won the Premier League and the Champions League in his first
season at Old Trafford.
However, he was far from a regular in the side due to a catalogue of injuries which restricted him to only 16 league starts.
This
season has been no different and Hargreaves has made only one league
start, in the 2-1 defeat to Liverpool, this season as the result of his
struggles with tendonitis.
"We are managing the situation as best we can," Sir Alex Ferguson was quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.
"It is not an easy one because there is no doubt he is having some pain.
"But he is getting better. We will give it another week and then probably send him back to the specialist in Leicester."
"Owen is young enough to recover," Ferguson added of the 27-year-old.
"The specialist is happy with it. He thinks Owen is on the right way.
"It is frustrating though. It is such a tender bit at the front of the knee, but I think he will be okay."
*sigh*
