The 24-year-old midfielder’s impressive performances for club and country have enhanced his reputation and he is currently one of the hottest properties in the Russian league.
According to skysports.com, Manchester United scouts watched Krasic put in an highly impressive performance in midweek for his country as they beat Austria 3-1 in Vienna in World Cup qualifying.
Krasic scored the opener in the game and the win propelled Serbia to the top of Group 7 and followed on from their 3-0 defeat over Lithuania last weekend.
However, the Premier League champions are likely to face stiff competition for the midfielder’s services.
Sky sports also report that Portsmouth sent scouts to the same game and claim that a host of other clubs, including Bundesliga sides Werder Bremen and Hamburg along with Porto and Paris Saint-Germain are also tracking the player.
Furthermore, CSKA Moscow are believed to be desperate to keep hold of Krasic who has three years left to run on his contract, although a fee of £8 million might be enough to secure a deal.
One factor that may favour United in the race to sign Krasic is that fact that his international team mate Nemanja Vidic plays for Manchester United having signed from Spartak Moscow in 2006.
Vidic has enjoyed a successful time at Old Trafford, forming an impressive partnership with Rio Ferdinand and winning the Premier League twice and the Champions League.
