If you havent heard, Foster is out for two months.
Sir Alex Ferguson has nothing but sympathy for Ben Foster after ruling the Manchester United keeper out for up to two months.
The United chief accepts that Foster's attempts to become a top-class performer are being "derailed" by a string of injury problems.
After missing most of last term, the former Stoke City shot-stopper faces a long spell on the sidelines after hurting his ankle in the reserves on Thursday, just when he was primed to mount a challenge to Edwin van der Sar.
"The lad's not getting any luck at all at the moment," said Ferguson.
"He came down on his ankle and is out for six to eight weeks with ligament damage.
"He's not having any luck at all as he was coming on fantastic in training, really well, and I made him sub on Wednesday [against Villarreal] as an indication of his return to fitness.
"He's being blighted by these injuries and it's derailing his career as a top keeper.
"I just hope he gets a wee break now and gets over this one and doesn't get any more injuries.
"It's nothing to do with the previous injury, of course, as he had a cruciate knee problem so it's got nothing to do with that. It's just bad luck."
do u know Ben's dad and mum?
