In the past two years Fraizer Campbell has seen his stock rise
considerably due to an education spent away from Manchester United.
In
2006 Campbell won the hearts of Royal Antwerp fans by averaging a
return of two goals in every three games and chants of 'Super Campbell'
even echoed around the terraces.
The next year Campbell spent a
season at Championship side Hull City. His goals played a pivotal role
in their promotion push, and Tigers boss Phil Brown was so impressed
with the 20-year old striker that he wanted to sign him permanently
this year, or at least on loan.
Campbell though was used as
deal-sweetener in the Dimitar Berbatov transfer, but the
Huddersfield-born forward has told the Daily Mirror that he hopes the
move is not permanent because he aims to become a first-choice striker
at the club he has been registered to since 2004 -Manchester United.
"I've
had various meetings with Sir Alex [Ferguson] and I'm in his plans for
the future... Hopefully I can get some experience, come back and get a
place in the team."
"This season I hope I can get in the
[Tottenham] team, hold down a regular first-team place and score a few
goals, but mostly learn from the experience."
