Manucho will not be making his Manchester United first-team debut imminently because he is recovering from a foot injury, Alex Ferguson has revealed.
Angola international Manucho spent the second half of last season on loan to the Greek side Panathinaikos, with a work permit issue preventing him from playing in England.
However, that problem has now been cleared up and the 25-year-old is free to play for United.
But that won’t happen until his metatarsal injury heals fully. The
injury forced him to miss United’s pre-season trip to South Africa and
Nigeria.
"He is still recovering from a metatarsal injury and has done bits of training," said Ferguson.
"It is quite promising in terms of recovery from the injury. But he is still well short of a competitive match."
