Wayne Rooney proved his love for the Stereophonics recently with a tattoo in honour of the band - now we can reveal that he put life and limb on the line for his musical heroes.
The Sterophonics even played at Wayne and Coleen's wedding - just before Wayne had the title of the band's album Just Enough Education To Perform tattooed on his arm.
But now it's emerged that a skint young Rooney went to even greater lengths in the name of being a Phonics fan, and rumour has it he had his jaw broken by an employee selling band merchandise when he tried to steal one of the T-Shirts.
Phonics frontman Kelly Jones confirmed: "Wayne's been to several of our gigs, he's been coming since he was 13. One time, he went to try and get a t-shirt from someone and he got punched in the face, broke his jaw he did."
Meanwhile, the Stereophonics are gearing up to release their greatest hits A Decade In the Sun: The best of the Stereophonics on November.
They're celebrating it with a greatest hits tour which kicks off December 2 at the Glasgow SECC and finishes at the London O2 Arena on December 20.
