Edwin van der Sar says he will make a decision on his United future at the end of the year.
The
37-year-old stopper, United's shoot-out hero in last season's Champions
League final, joined from Fulham in 2005, but is out of contract next
summer.
Van der Sar recently retired from international football
following Holland's quarter-final exit from Euro 2008 in a bid to
prolong his club career.
The Dutchman has not ruled out playing
beyond the new season, but believes waiting until December will allow
him to properly assess all the factors involved.
"I do not know [if it is my final year]. I look at it from year to year," he told Voetbal International.
"If everyone is happy, okay. But if you are faced with injuries and you miss long periods, then you have a different outlook.
"I could play a very steady season and do well or the club might no longer be satisfied.
"In December I will look to see how things are - that's a good time to decide."
