  Man Utd launching bid for Valencia's Silva

  Manchester United are launching a bid for Valencia winger David Silva.

  Marca says United boss Sir Alex Ferguson rates Silva highly and sees him as an ideal foil for attacking Cristiano Ronaldo.

  United are ready to offer £18 million for the Spain international, who is among the lowest paid players at Valencia, despite his Euro2008 heroics.
