Estudiantes keeper Mariano Andujar claims he has heard that Manchester United are interested in signing him.
Although another goalie would hardly seem to be a priority for Sir Alex Ferguson as he already has Edwin van der Sar, Ben Foster and Tomasz Kuszczak on his books, Andujar has revealed his agent has been talking to clubs in Europe.
"I don’t know anything, but this news makes me feel like I’m above the clouds,” Andujar told La Red radio station.
"Wow! Going to Manchester United would be incredible!
"For some reason the club have bought [Mariano] Barbosa because they might think I could be leaving. At the moment, we have five keepers but the club are free to sign whoever they want."
The 24-year-old has already played in Europe for Palermo, on loan, but is likely to represent his current club in the Copa Sudamericana before contemplating another move.
Ferguson has a habit of chopping and changing his keepers quite regularly but with Ben Amos also coming through the ranks, it would seem highly unlikely that he would bring in another glovesman without releasing one of his top-line keepers.
