ERIC CANTONA is believed to be seriously considering Manchester United’s long-standing offer to return to Old Trafford as a coach.
And with manager Sir Alex Ferguson in danger of losing his influential No2, Carlos Queiroz – wanted by Portugal to succeed Luiz Felipe Scolari – the Frenchman’s emotional return would be perfect timing.
Ever since Cantona shocked the football world by announcing his sudden retirement 11 years ago, Ferguson has kept in touch with the maverick forward.
He has constantly tried to cajole him into returning to Old Trafford.
Now a close friend of Cantona has revealed to Sunday Express Sport: “Eric does fancy the idea of helping out with the coaching at a club like Manchester United.
“He has been enjoying himself appearing in and directing films and being involved in beach soccer but has always wanted to help produce a team in his style and knows that Sir Alex Ferguson would encourage him.”
he really suit to be understudy for SAF
after tat, when SAF retire, he will take over.
perfect.
It was a real pity he decided to retired early in his career... But I guess he is one of those that was a perfectionist... He wanted to leave at the top of his game and not be remembered by the fans as a player slowly losing it like Giggs, Neville or Scholes today...
i think he should come and take over as no.2
learn from fergie all the secrets then take over in 2 or 3 seasons after fergie retires...
soon we can see almost every united player doing joga bonito volley the right way and kung fu kick ppl

And you think Roy Keane has that for the top level? I think he still has a long way to go to reach that level... Let him gain more experience first...
not everyone can coach without being an apprentice 1st. it'll take at least 5 years to train up a SAF replacement!
finally, his money ran out, he needed a job now.....
he is famous for his partyboy personality right? i think he might as well move to hollywood la!

he has small roles in french movies....becos they are flops, he claims that those are arthouse movies. if beckham is a flop in hollywood, eric don't stand a chance.
hollywood doesnt mean act in movies, but just be a celeb to party

What playboy personality you talking about?
In retirement, he managed the French Team which won the inaugural FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in 2005 in Rio de Janeiro... Not bad for someone who never coach or manage before...
he definitely looks the part though.
